Wild Turkey fly in Briones

Looking closely at the above picture, you'll see four full-sized female turkeys in the air joining three that had already landed.
They landed on the slope on the other side of the valley we were waking the ridge of.
The flock of 20 or so birds took to wing when we came across them at the top of the hill.  We had gotten to within 25 yards of the group before they saw the dogs and headed into the air to make their escape..

A new sign had been added to the open space in Briones Regional Park.  Nicely done.

After five miles of hiking and running, the dogs enjoyed a quick dip in this cattle trough.
